The People We Meet

There are two types of people you are going to meet as you navigate this road called life. The first type is the type of person you wouldn't want to be. The second type is the type of person that you want to become.

The people you don't want to be. Whether they are a stranger, a friend, or even a family member, they have the qualities of a person that you don't want or that annoys you. Or those traits that make you want to punch them in the face. They are hot-tempered people and easily angered. They are the ones who easily get mad when something goes wrong. They would get mad at the waiter when the food that they ordered took so long to arrive. But who wouldn't get mad when something like that happens anyway? But at least try to consider different factors first. Consider the time, whether it's a peak hour or not. Try to look around you and check the number of people. Consider also the food that you ordered. Some foods take longer to prepare than others. These are also the types of people who don't take responsibility for their actions. They don't want to admit their faults. They always find someone to blame. They always think that they are right. The people who you don't want to be are also the "megalomaniacs." They use their power to their own advantage. They don't have sympathy for other people. They use their power to make you feel helpless. They don't have any consideration for other people's feelings; they are self-centred. They only think of themselves. These are also the people who always find something to complain about. They always try to find the bad, even in almost perfect circumstances. They would only see the one thing that went wrong instead of the 99 things that went right. When someone does something good to them, they always think that the person has an ulterior motive. They always have something bad to say about other people. They always find fault with someone. You don't want to be surrounded by these people. You just can't stand being in a room with them.

Another type is the person that you want to become. They are the type of people who are exactly the opposite of the people I mentioned above. They could be a stranger that you encounter when you are in line to pay for your groceries. They would let you go first to the counter. Not because they are still waiting for their companion, but simply because they are that kind. These are also the people who will help you without expecting anything in return. You would feel the sincerity every time they ask the question, "How are you?" They are the type that instantly warms your heart every time you see them. It would automatically make you feel excited when you see their presence. You look forward to seeing them. Because you know that they will only talk about good vibes and positivity, not about other people. They only see the good in every situation. They always try to find a solution when things go wrong instead of complaining. They would simply act more than talk. They don't speak badly about other people. Oftentimes, you would wonder how they could be so kind and warm-hearted. You know that despite what other people did to them, they don't reciprocate the mistreatment of other people. Being with them inspires you to become a better person. They are always grateful people. Whether they have less or are in abundance, they are always thankful for what they have. They always see the glass as half-full. You just want to be surrounded by these kinds of people.

Every person that we meet surely has something to teach us. We meet them for a reason. Either to teach us patience or to become the best version of ourselves.

au revoir. 😊
