When You No Longer Want To Try

There comes a point in our life when we no longer want to try. We stop trying to fix broken relationships. We no longer want to try to fix things, so we throw it and buy new stuff. We stop trying to fit in other people's lives. We stop trying to make things work. Probably because we realized our self-worth. Or simply because we got tired.

We will come to a point when we realize that no matter how hard we try, there are really things that can never go back to the way they were before. Some broken relationships cannot be fixed. Some wounds cannot be mended. Some things are better left in the past.

We eventually come to a point where we have to learn how to let go. We have to accept that we outgrow people and vice versa. We may have shared a beautiful story together, but our part in their story is over. Or their part in our story has ended. We cannot ask them to stay if they want to leave. We cannot get mad at them for choosing to take the route different from ours. At the end of the day we are free to choose whatever path we want to take.

The best thing that we can do is to wish them well. We should also be grateful for them cause they made the few chapters in our story fun and memorable. We should still be thankful that our paths have crossed. They made a huge impact in our life. Somehow they made living more bearable cause we get to share it with them.

Sadly as the saying goes, "Some good things must come to an end." We may not want to end their part in our story, but they already do. The thing is, we have to learn that not everyone who comes into our life will stay for a lifetime. There are some who stay only for a season and then we'll meet someone new. Even though they promised forever, still everything is uncertain. People change. People grow apart. We cannot stop them from happening. What's certain is that we have to move forward with our lives.

We have to learn how to leave people alone. We have to learn how to leave people in the past. We cannot invite them to our future, nor to our present, especially if they didn't want to come. So let's just continue living and be glad that once in our life we came across a certain individual who made our life a little brighter by being in it.

au revoir. 😊
