When Things Change

At times, change could be frightening. People tend to avoid it. We only want to settle with what's familiar. As much as possible we don't want to deal with changes. Because some changes require newness of things, surroundings, people, personality, or mindset. And we can't see what lies behind these changes. We have no idea whether it will do us good or not.

When we are already get used to things, we thought it would last forever. Many times we take these things for granted not knowing that one day they will change. But the reality is that, things change and people do, too. And we can't stop it from happening. We will wake up one day realizing how things have already changed. It's amazing how each day feels the same, only to look back and realize how everything isn't the same anymore.

We can't avoid changes in our life. Many times it would help us become better. But of course at first, we are going be reluctant. Especially if this is a massive change that requires us to have a new mindset or a change of heart. Some changes can be so hard to deal with. It's hard if it involves losing a piece of your self too. We avoid it, but some things are really out of our control. It will happen no matter how much we avoid it.

We might feel sad and heartbroken knowing that we won't experience the same things again. But that's how life goes. We have to accept it whether we like it or not. We have to accept that no matter how much we are comfortable or familiar with something, it will eventually change. How people treat us will change. Probably one of the reasons why some relationships fail. One day they treat you like you are the center of their universe. And the next thing you know, you were already thrown on the other side. Without even the slightest intention of picking up.

Of course we aren't immune to these changes. We also change. Not only our physical appearance change. Our behavior change. We are no longer the same person we were a decade ago. We don't laugh at the same jokes anymore. We don't cry at the same things that used to make us sad. Our preference with things change. We outgrow things and at the same time we outgrow people.

We may not be able to see it right away, but some changes are necessary. It will help us see life from a different perspective. It will teach us things that we couldn't learn hadn't these changes took place. Some changes are meant to strengthen us, though it won't feel like it at first. But as we look back, we're gonna realize that we can still survive despite these changes. Even though we had a hard time adjusting at first.

I'd like to believe that things change for the better. It's necessary for our growth. Cause if things remain the same, we won't see how far we can endure. Things change for us to realize that we can still survive without the things or people that we thought we couldn't live without. Of course, it would hurt at first.

I guess that's how life really goes. We have our own season. One day we're everyone's favorite and the next day we're already replaced by someone else. It's best to teach our self how to stop getting attached to things or people. Or to tie our happiness on them. Cause eventually, they'll change. It's a great thing to remember that nothing is this world is permanent. Everything and everyone change. It's also important to embrace our individuality. How we were or who we were before we have who or what we have. In that case, it wouldn't be that hard to adjust once these changes happen.

au revoir. 😊
