Sat With Ree: Ain't About The Cha-Ching Cha-Ching

Kumusta na? Anong paghahanda ang ginagawa mo para bukas? Just so you know, 6-6 na bukas. Yieeeeeeee...

Speaking of.....naniniwala ka ba na "money can't buy happiness" because the best things in life are free? Why or why not? Please defend your answer. I need an acceptable reason. Char. 😊

Kaya for me money can buy happiness. LOL. Kaya nga may "happy meal" diba? McDo, beke nemen. 😁

According to Wikepedia "the term happiness is used in the context of mental or emotional states, including positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy." And here's another definition, also from the same website, which for me is interesting: "Happiness' is the subject of debate on usage and meaning, and on possible differences in understanding by culture."

Some people want diamond rings

Some just want everything

But everything means nothing

If I ain't got you

Balik tayo don sa first definition I stated above. When we focus on the word "contentment" that's when we can say that money really can't buy happiness. I think it's human nature— to want more. See how even the richest man still works hard eventhough he has a lot of money already. Why? Simply because he's still not contented with what he already has or maybe on who he already is. Maybe there's still a part of him that's still missing and needs to be fulfilled. There are people who keeps on collecting things and still keeps on buying the same thing— just of different style or color— even though they already have plenty. Simply because they are not yet contented with what they have. They are not yet satisfied. They still crave for more. And we have no right to judge them because that's what makes them happy. And of course.....it's their money. 😊

You think that you will be happy once you buy the latest phone model and then after a couple of weeks here comes the newest model then you'll buy again. And the cycle continues. See? No contentment.

It doesn't matter how much you have money in your pocket or in the bank or wherever you keep your money, if you don't feel contented with your life or with what you have you wouldn't be truly happy. You'll always think that you're still lacking something when in fact you already have too much.

There are people out there who would do anything just to have what you have. It should be a great reminder to you not to take what you have for granted. Drop the idea that you will only be happy once you have this or once you buy that. It's impossible to find happiness if you don't know how to appreciate what you already have.

Some people work so hard even though they hate their job so much to have money to buy the things they thought they wanted or needed. Life is a continuous cycle of "I want this" and "I need to buy that." Others think that people would adore them just because they have the latest phone model or a luxury car or a designer bag. When in fact they really don't want those things they just wanted to impress the people around them. But they don't realize that the people they are trying to impress aren't even interested in them.

It's important to asses our self first before spending money on something. Let us think first if we really need it or we just want it. Because there's really a huge difference between "wants" and "needs." We should always keep in mind how we work hard just to earn that money that's why we should not spend it senselessly.

Happiness cannot be found on the material things that you have. As long as you don't have satisfaction for the things that you already have you won't really be happy. Happiness is truly an inside job and you cannot find it elsewhere, you have to decide for yourself.

The truth is you can't have everything you want, but if you appreciate what you have you won't feel you're missing out on something. If you know how to be grateful for everything that you have you will always have more.

If you really want to be happy all you need is to be contented with what you have no matter how little or how plentiful. If you keep on seeking things that you think you lack chances are you might overlook the things or blessings that is already in front of you. I know it's in our nature to want more but may we also never forget to appreciate what we already have. You know what they say "less is more."

Ciao. 😊
