Happy Mother's Day

M. Mother. One word six letters with only one meaning, and that is unconditional love. They already love us the moment they feel us in their womb. They love us even though at times we aren't deserving of their love. And they continue to love us even at times we don't give them the love that they're supposed to receive. They love us despite our shortcomings. They love us even though we don't give them the proper credit on why we are born in this world. They don't stop loving us despite the mistakes that we make. Sometimes they love us more than they love themselves. We know that they are going to love us no matter what.

O. Opportunity. That's what every mother gave us. They gave us the opportunity to be born and experience the life that we have. Even though they weren't sure how we're gonna be as a child, they were willing to take a risk and raised us in the best way that they can. And at times, we tend to take it for granted. They gave us the opportunity to live the life that we have. We were given the opportunity to live, and it's only up to us whether we make this life a meaningful one or not.

T. Thank you. Thank you won't be enough with all that you do and continue doing for us your children. For all the sacrifices, patience, understanding, love, care, dedication, advice, lessons and a lot other things that you gave us and still continue doing so, thank you. We may not be able to give you back what you are willing to give us, but know that we appreciate all of them. We, your children, will be forever indebted to you. Thank you for being patient with us everytime we become so hard to handle. Thank you for dedicating your life to your children. Thank you for always being there to give us advice and for the lessons you instill in us especially when we were a lot younger. Thank you for never giving up on us. Thank you for the never-ending care and support. Thank you for making our life as convenient as possible. Thank you for prioritizing your children instead of your self. Thank you for being the glue that holds our family together. Most importantly, thank you for giving us this life.  Thank you for the unconditional love. Thank you for the love that only you can give.

Tough love. That's what you sometimes give to your children. But even so, we know that if you don't do that we won't strive to be the better version of ourselves. We won't make an effort to do better if it isn't for your tough love. So still, thank you.

H. Hero. That's what you are to your children. Your super power is your ability to attend to every need of your children. You never seem to get tired. You are available 24/7 for your children. You can't fly, but as long as your children need you you will be there in the blink of eye. When we were kids, you were always there to help us get up when we fell to our knees. You always want to save us. Just as long as we know that you are there, we can feel secure. Surely, your kryptonite is us, your children. And we know that when you're there, we are home.

E. Everything. You are everything to us and without you we would be nothing. You provide us everything that we need and as long as you can, you are willing to give us everything we want. And the effort that you are willing to exert for us, is truly undeniable. You are extreme in showing your love for your children. You are an extraordinary kind of woman. No one can do it like you do. You are an epitome of the word 'selfless.' I hope and pray that all mothers will always have the energy to do the things that they want to do.

R. Respect. That's what you should get from your children. Every mother should be given respect even if at times we don't meet eye to eye. It's such an easy thing to give, but there are times when we fail to give it to you. Instead, we do the exact opposite. And we sincerely apologize for it. Sometimes children become so disrespectful not only to their mother, but both their parents. One wrong move of them and we tend to disrespect them, especially when they don't give us what we ask from them. Even if at times they don't get us, that doesn't give us the right to disrespect them. We should never fail to give them the respect that they deserve. We should always make them feel that we appreciate them and make them feel valued. Instead of focusing on the things that we think they did wrong, let us focus on all the things that they did and doing right because there is definitely a lot. They are willing to risk everything for their children. Rest assured that your children will always be here to love and take care of you.

Happy Mother's Day, to all the mothers out there especially to mine. Thank you for making this world a lovely place to live. Sorry if at times you feel disrespected and not valued. Know that we are forever grateful to God for your existence. We love you and we never want to live without you. You are the reason for our being. ❤
