Goodbye, 2024? Not So Fast!
Here we are, standing at the doorstep of 2025, and honestly, I’m not quite ready to open the door yet. If 2024 were a person, I’d probably hug it awkwardly, say “thank you,” and then stall with small talk just to delay the goodbye. This year? It’s been a delightful whirlwind—packed with surprises that left me equal parts amazed, grateful, and occasionally wondering if I was the punchline to one of God’s jokes (the good kind, though).
To say 2024 was a year of surprises would be putting it lightly. You know those moments when life suddenly veers off-course, and you think, “Well, that’s unexpected!”? That’s been my year. But the beauty of it all is how those unexpected turns led to some of the most precious blessings. Truly, God moves in mysterious ways, and this year was proof of just how intricate and thoughtful His plans can be.
And so, I find myself clinging to 2024, not just for its blessings but for the hope it has rekindled in me. There’s something bittersweet about saying goodbye to a year that’s been so kind. It feels like parting ways with an old friend who knows all your quirks and somehow still thinks you’re great.
Now, as 2025 approaches, I’m keeping my hopes simple. I don’t need extravagant miracles or fireworks; I just pray that the peace, joy, and blessings I’ve received will carry forward into the new year. My heart whispers a quiet prayer: “Lord, let things remain steady, let your grace abound, and please don’t throw in any plot twists that require me to upgrade my survival skills!”
More than anything, I hope God continues to bless His people. In a world that often feels like it’s moving too fast and growing too complicated, His love and provision are the constants we all need. I pray that everyone finds the strength to move forward with faith and the assurance that He’s always working behind the scenes—even when life feels like a cliffhanger episode.
Looking back, I realize 2024 wasn’t perfect, but it was full of moments that made me stop, smile, and say, “Thank You, Lord.” Gratitude isn’t just for the big milestones; it’s for the little victories, the quiet moments of joy, and the reminder that we’re never alone in our journey.
So, as we prepare to turn the page, I’ll take one last moment to savor the gift that was 2024. Here’s to a year that taught me to embrace the unexpected, trust in God’s timing, and laugh at life’s absurdities. And here’s to 2025—a blank slate, a fresh start, and, hopefully, a continuation of all that is good.
Thank you, 2024. You gave me something good to remember you by.
To God be the glory, always and forever. Cheers to the year that was, and a hopeful toast to the year that’s to come!
au revoir. 😊
